Yes. There is a slightly different process for using a Polyaspartic coating over an epoxy coating, but it can certainly be done effectively.

What happens if I drop something on Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating and it chips the floor?

If you drop something, most likely it won’t chip the floor unless it’s dense and has a sharp edge. If something happens to the floor, know that we can repair small damages without redoing the entire floor.

Are different Polyaspartic colors at different price points?

We offer a large color selection so you can pick the Polyaspartic color that suits you best. All the Polyaspartic coating colors we stock are set at the same price point.

Can the steps be Polyaspartic coated even though they’re made out of wood?

Absolutely! Even if the steps are made of wood, the Polyaspartic coating will adhere to them but there is no warranty on them.

Is it normal to have bubbles in Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating the day after installation?

It is totally normal for you to see some air bubbles and hear them popping when you walk on the floor the day following installation.

How often do I need to clean my new Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coated floor?

Cleaning the dirt and grime off your floor will limit potential abrasion on the floor and keep it looking good for years to come.

If my floor is pooling or dipping in some areas, are you able to fix it beforehand?

Floor is Pooling or Dipping? If the slab has sunk a significant amount, then you may want to consider having it raised prior to having it Polyaspartic coated.

 

What is the Life Expectancy (Epoxy) of your Polyaspartic Coatings?

Will My Polyaspartic Coating Turn Yellow?

Do Polyaspartic and Epoxy Floor Coatings leave an odor?

Depending on what product and manufacturer is being used it can smell pretty foul. Most odors are caused by products that have a high amount of odor solvents added to them and use cheaper raw materials.

How slip-resistant are Polyaspartic coating?

This Polyaspartic coating is textured due to the vinyl paint flakes, making it fairly slip-resistant. Polyaspartic coatings are less slick than epoxy coatings because epoxy is glass-like and very slick to walk on, especially when wet.

Does Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating scratch easily?

Polyaspartic floors are exceptionally scratch resistant. While these coatings can scratch, they are one of the most resilient garage floor coatings in the industry.

Do you need to grind the floor or can you do an acid wash?

Grinding the floor with diamonds is the best way to prep a floor for a long term coating.

Are your installers trained and certified?

All of our installers are trained and certified. They work directly with the owner to ensure they are doing everything perfectly.

Will Polyaspartic coatings discolor over time due to constant sun exposure?

Polyaspartic coatings, which are what we use, are UV protected and will hold up best from UV ray exposure.

Is the Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating process dusty?

With us, dust is minimal. We realize the last thing you want to do is spend days cleaning up fine concrete dust off your belongings.

Do I need to be home for floor coating installation?

We understand that things come up, but no problem here! You do not need to be home for Polyaspartic coating installation as long as the crew has access to the garage. No need for us to enter your home.

Do I Have to Reseal my Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coating?

The Polyaspartic coating that you obtain will ultimately last the flooring life as long as you continue to follow our cleaning and maintenance specifications. If you don’t care appropriately for your coating, it likely won’t last as long as expected. 

How Long do I Need to Stay off my Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coating After it is Installed?

In general, we recommend that you don’t walk on a Polyaspartic new coating for around 4-6 hours.

What are Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Concrete Coatings?

Polyaspartic is a term that refers to an “Aliphatic Polyurea.” Polyurea coatings tend to be slightly more well-known, because they are often used in tank coatings and spray down truck bed liners. 

Can Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coatings be Used Outside?

Yes. The majority of these systems are UV stable, which means that they will resist damage from UV rays. This ensures that Polyaspartic Coatings are suited to exterior applications. 

Can I Apply Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coatings in Cold Temperatures?

This depends on the specific formulation. In general, this coating type can be applied with extremely low temperatures. 

Are Polyaspartic Coatings as Durable as Epoxy Coatings?

If anything, Polyaspartic coatings are more durable than epoxy coatings. They tend to offer better abrasion resistance than typical epoxy coatings.

What should I do to prepare the floor before my Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coating installation?

Will you coat over the felt pad between the floor and the wall?

The felt pad can be caulked over and then coated over. We use a special caulk that bonds to the felt pad as well as our specific product.

Will Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating crack if the concrete cracks?

When your concrete cracks from shifting overtime, usually the expansion joints will catch a majority of the cracks.

Can I fill the expansion joints after the Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating is installed?

You can definitely fill the expansion joints in once the Polyaspartic coating is installed.

Do the expansion joints get filled during the installation?

This can go either way. We do not recommended filling in your expansion joints. The expansion joints are there for a reason: to force cracks to occur inside them versus in the middle of the floor.

Can Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating be applied when it’s cold out?

Yes we have summer and winter blends of our products.

What is the best way to clean my Polyaspartic (Epoxy) coated floor?

The Polyaspartic coatings we install are very easy to clean and maintain. We recommend using a squeegee with soap and water to clean the surface of the coating. 

Can you coat my driveway with the polyaspartic (Epoxy) coating?

We do not recommend coating driveways, especially if it has a slope.
