How Much do your Coatings Cost?
All of our coatings are custom created and come in many different varieties. Due to this, we are able to work with you to design the best coating to fit the majority of budgets. There are different requirements for every project, so we strive to offer free estimates to provide you with the cost for your particular coating project.
What is the Life Expectancy of your Coatings?
The coatings that we implement are formulated specially to be both durable and strong. This ensures that they are permanent. Our process ensures that they will adhere effectively to the substrate. Ultimately, our coatings will last as long as the flooring surface they are applied to.
Do I Have to Reseal my Coating?
The coating that you obtain will ultimately last the life of the flooring, as long as you continue to follow our cleaning and maintenance specifications. If you don’t care appropriately for your coating, it likely won’t last as long as expected. We offer cleaners to help simplify the cleaning of the surface. These cleaners can help to enhance the overall appearance, extend the life of your top coat, and maintain your warranty.
How Long Does it Take to Apply your Coatings?
The size of the project will impact the total time for the project. It usually takes between 6 and 10 hours. Smaller projects can generally be completed in one day, while larger projects may take 2. Our goal is to finish the project as quickly as possible to minimize any inconvenience to you. Rain may occasionally delay our services.
Will My Coating Turn Yellow?
No, the coating will not turn yellow. One of the major advantages of a polyspartic/polurea floor coating is that they are UV stable and won’t be negatively impacted by exposure to UV rays. Our products come with a lifetime guarantee to not fade.
How Long do I Need to Stay off my Coating After it is Installed?
In general, we recommend that you don’t walk on a new coating for around 4-6 hours. However, you should wait 12 hours before moving medium weight objects onto their surface, including fixtures like boxes or patio furniture. You should also wait at least 24 hours before moving anything heavy, like cars or tool boxes, onto the coated area.
How Do I Care for my Coating?
These coatings come with relatively little maintenance, but it is important to care for them properly to extend their lifetime. They can often be cleaned easily with the use of a garden hose, mop, broom, or squeegee. We also provide a cleaner to simplify the cleaning process. You can really use any non-abrasive, ammonia-based cleaner. Some examples of these cleaners include CLR, ZEP Citrus Degreaser, and Simple Green.
Will My Coating Get Stained from Oil?
Our sealers are intended to repel oil, which allows oil to be wiped off easily.
What are Polyaspartic Concrete Coatings?
Polyaspartic is a term that refers to an “Aliphatic Polyurea.” Polyurea coatings tend to be slightly more well-known, because they are often used in tank coatings and spray down truck bed liners.
Who Invented Polyaspartic Coatings?
These coatings originally came about in the early 1990s. It was created by Bayer Material Science, one of the world’s leading chemical companies. Polyaspartic coatings were first used to provide a protective steel coating, which helped to prevent corrosion from occurring to bridges. It was eventually modified to serve in many different types of applications, such as resinous floor concrete coatings.
What Types of Floor Coating Systems are Available with Polyaspartics?
These floor coatings are incredibly versatile, which allow them to be implemented alongside many floor coating system types. 100% coverage flake, quartz, and standard solid color industrial floor coating systems are often used with Polyaspartic coatings. Dye, seal, and metallic floor coating systems are able to be used with these coating systems, as well.
Can Polyaspartic Coatings be Used Outside?
Yes. The majority of these systems are UV stable, which means that they will resist damage from UV rays. This ensures that they are suited to exterior applications.
What Types of Environments Can Polyaspartic Coatings Be Used In?
Any type of an environment that calls for a resinous floor coating will allow for the use of a Polyaspartic coating system. Residential garage floors, porches, patios, basements, and pool deck concrete coatings can use Polyaspartic coatings. Heavy traffic commercial and industrial floorings are also well-suited for Polyaspartic coatings.
How are Polyaspartic Coatings Applied?
These coatings can be applied with a nap roller or a squeegee. Some of the more common methods use the Ribbon and Roll method or the Dip and Roll Method.
Can I Apply Polyaspartic Coatings in Cold Temperatures?
This depends on the specific formulation. In general, this coating type can be applied with extremely low temperatures.
How Long Do Polyaspartic Coatings Take to Dry?
These coatings are designed specifically to cure rapidly. This means that it is possible that they are able to dry in a few hours.
Who Can Install Polyaspartic Coatings?
These high-performance materials should really only be installed by a certified coatings contractor.
Are Polyaspartic Coatings as Durable as Epoxy Coatings?
If anything, Polyaspartic coatings are more durable than epoxy coatings. They tend to offer better abrasion resistance than typical epoxy coatings.
Can I Use Polyaspartic Coating over an Epoxy Coating?
Yes. There is a slightly different process for using a Polyaspartic coating over an epoxy coating, but it can certainly be done effectively.
