How slip-resistant is Polyaspartic coating?
This Polyaspartic coating is textured due to the vinyl paint flakes, making it fairly slip-resistant floor coating. Polyaspartic coatings are less slick than epoxy coatings because epoxy is glass-like and very slick to walk on, especially when wet. Polyaspartic coatings are made to grip when dry. If slip resistance is a concern, we can add silica sand or a traction additive to the topcoat for extra resistance.
Typically, garage floors aren’t a concern when it comes to being slippery. Patios and porches on the other hand can be more of a concern when it snows or rains. We recommend you add the traction additive to your patio or porch project. Since the coating is chemical resistant, you can put ice melt on your surface to melt down the snow and ice with no worries of it eating away at the Polyaspartic coating.
