The Importance of Garage Floor Polishing
If you’re a car owner, you know that garages are not just for cars. They can also be used to store other things like garden equipment or sporting goods. But the garage floor is often neglected and forgotten about until it becomes so filthy with dirt and gravel that nothing will fit anymore. That’s because people think there’s no point in cleaning something they don’t use every day. However, if your floors are constantly dirty then it could lead to bigger problems down the line–even causing accidents when someone slips on oily grime! Let’s explore how to keep your garage clean by garage floor polishing!
The first step is to sweep the entire garage floor and get rid of any large pieces of debris. Don’t forget to clean out the corners and crevices! Once that’s done, you can start by mixing a gallon of water with a quarter cup of concrete cleaner. Pour it onto the floor and start scrubbing with a broom or a long-handled brush. Scrub until the concrete is completely clean and shiny, then let your garage floor dry overnight.
Once it’s dried, you will want to use a wet/dry vacuum with a squeegee attachment so that you can suck up all of the remaining water from the floor. This might have to be done in more than one session, depending on how much water your floor can absorb. If you don’t have a wet/dry vacuum, then try using a squeegee mop instead.
The next step is to apply the sealant and polisher! For this step we recommend using a paver sealer because it’s specifically designed for garage floors. This chemical is very thin, so you will need to apply it in sections. Apply the sealant with a roller–you only need to use half of the bottle for this project! Once you’ve applied it all over your floor, let it sit for at least 24 hours before driving your car in or adding any other objects back into the garage.
The final step is to apply the polisher. This will not only add shine and luster to your floor, but it will also make it a lot easier to clean in the future by making oil and other spills less likely to stick! Most people tend to use a two-in-one machine where you can do both buffer and polisher, but you can also use a dedicated polisher if you have one. Apply the polisher in a circular motion and let it dry for about four hours before driving on it or putting anything back in the garage.
Now your garage floor is clean, shiny, and protected! You should try to polish it at least once every six months to keep it looking great. If you need to scrub the floor again anytime soon, make sure to start with a wet area first and use fresh water; if your garage is very dirty then follow the steps above again! We hope this article has helped you learn how to keep your concrete coating clean without too much effort required on your part.
