Four Square Park
Douglas County is the fastest growing county in the U.S. and the eighth most populous county in Colorado. It contains portions of Aurora and Littleton and is located between Denver and Colorado Springs. As a result, growth will occur in other parts of the county as well. By 2030, the population will increase by more than 54%, with a major increase in the over 65 age group. This will lead to increased demand for specialized transportation services to help mitigate the growth.
In order to meet these demands, the County developed the 2030 Transportation Plan. The plan is a collaboration between the County, the State of Colorado, and other local and state agencies. One of the primary transportation corridors through the County is US-85 and US-83. There are several federal and state roadways that are in need of upgrades. These include US-85, E-470, I-25, and SH 83. Click for more info!
