The lake is home to a wide variety of fish. You will find crappie, walleye, striped bass, and rainbow trout, among others. For the best possible results, make sure you follow the park rules. Those under the age of 13 are not allowed to operate watercraft alone.
Besides the usual suspects, Aurora Reservoir is also known for the quality of its water. In fact, the reservoir is considered one of the cleanest bodies of water in the state. If you are looking for a place to spend a weekend, this is a great choice. Whether you want to go scuba diving, rent a kayak, or catch a decent-sized shad, Aurora has you covered.
Diving

The reservoir has its fair share of sunken items. One of the most notable is a sunken twin engine airplane that is visible to divers who have the guts to go down below the surface. The plane, which was deliberately placed in the reservoir in 1994, is located about 30 feet below the water’s surface.
Among the best things about the reservoir are the interactive displays that explain its ecology and wildlife. In addition, it is the site of many community events.
Other water-related attractions include a swim beach, a boat dock, and a rental equipment shack. A seasonal SCUBA beach has been opened for the summer months.
