Whether you want to participate in organized bike rides, or take a ride for yourself in the Rocky Mountains, Denver is the perfect place to visit.
Bear Creek Bike Trail
This 14.5 mile bike ride is an ideal one for anyone wanting to enjoy the red rocks with amazing city views. The entrance starts at Morrison and takes you through Lakewood, Sheridan and Denver. You can enjoy going through amazing neighborhoods, parks, and golf courses. While you bike ride, take a moment to stop at the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater to see what fun events are happening.
Summer Rides with the Denver Cruiser Ride
Since 2005 a group ride has been organized for everyone who’d like to ride to participate. Each month, there are weeknight rides that happen from May to September with fun themes to enjoy. The ride starts at 8:15 and always wind up at a fun, unique spot for an after-party. Riders can even get a bike license plate when they pay $20 to participate in the Denver Cruiser Ride.
The Platte River Trail
Do you want to truly learn about the city of Denver? Take some time to enjoy the 28.5 mile bike ride through the Platte River Trail that winds along the downtown city. There are 20 different historical signs including information about Native Americans, railroads, and unique wildlife. Starting just south of Englewood and ending in Henderson, this fun ride takes you through a number of unique places including the Riverside Cemetery.
Deer Creek Canyon
The Deer Creek Canyon is a classic bike route that is one of the most popular for Denver cyclists. This moderate bike route is ideal for anyone who wants to see amazing views and smell the fresh pine trees. The Rocky Mountain Cycling Club has provided multiple signs throughout the ride to inform cyclers about the area. In addition, there is a fun General Store in Kittredge to enjoy for bikes with bike racks, outdoor seating and a variety of healthy foods to refuel your body.
Cherry Creek Bike Path
A fun 40 mile bike ride that winds through spectacular mountain terrain and winds up going through the Cherry Creek Mall. This fun bike ride includes rich history where riders can learn about Denver’s early settlers and enjoy Castlewood Canyon State Park. In 1933, the Castlewood Dam burst, sending 15 foot high waves of water towards Denver.
Washington Park Loop
If you’d like a small bike ride, or a simple one to take young children on, the Washington Park Loop is the right one. This 2.25 mile loop allows you to see gorgeous flower gardens, lakes and a fun playground. There are several fun shops to enjoy, restaurants to dine at, and many locals to meet.
